Just to follow on from the other 'bad britpart' thread....
Needed to rebuild some calipers so bought parts from Mansfield 4x4.
They'd sold me Allmakes seal set last time and they were an excellent fit.
Britpart came this time so I thought I'd see how they went.

Appalling. Totally oversized. Piston seal was OK but both the wiper seals and fixing rings were off by a massive amount. Rings wouldn't go in the caliper. Wiper wouldn't go in the ring without bulging out all over the place. Alongside the AP ones, measuring with a micrometer its just impossible that they can be classed as 'within tolerance'.

Got some genuine parts from AP - makes the world of difference. Perfect fit - everything square etc etc.

Britpart seals. Hideous. I see now where they've got their alternate name from.

If nobody bought the blue boxs they would get the message pretty damn quickly.
I ordered some service parts the other week for my 90 including pas and alt belt, which were both labelled as britpart which i wasnt to amused at.
But thinking surely they cant **** up a v belt can they?
Well yes they can, they fit perfectly but squeal like a little piggy its actually embarassing as everyone is looking around for the source of the noise.
Old belts back on problem went away, britpart belts now emergency spares only.

you all still buy there ****e :p

As stated above.... twas a repeat order & so I had expected 'Allmakes'.
Retailers seem to pick & choose their brands. Unless you go genuine it seems like a lucky dip as to what turns up....

I've happily bought a few Britpart items before but this is my first real disaster.

Lets face it - Britpart doesn't have a factory. They don't make anything - they buy things in from other suppliers. As a result you get some good stuff some poor. What seems to be a problem is their quality assurance system. These seals should never have made it out of the factory door.
