Back window won't come up

Took door card off, everything seems to be where it should be, all cables on pulleys. Even with someone trying to lift the window it is seized solid. Motor just makes a clicking noise.

The two aluminium pieces that hold the glass and go up and down the runners were both heavily covered in white fluffy stuff so I gave them a good spray of WD40 and left it for an hour. Went back and tried it and it is working perfectly now. I dug out some old threads and some people say it can reset itself and others say you just disconnect and reconnect the battery and all is well. Just happy it is sorted. Thanks for the advice.

glad you got it sorted  - replaced the cables in mine and it goes up on the down button and visa versa  - not sure how to sort that problem but at least its closed and back door is open-able :)

I had that problem when I changed the drivers side rear door cable on the mother in law's (ex mine) V6. I just changed the terminals on the motor connection to get round it. I guess the window cables got routed back to front somehow.

I just googled :- Freelander rear window stuck down. It's such a complicated system, three different micro switches. There was someone on one site whose window was doing the opposite to the switch, but I didn't read it as it wasn't the problem I was having.

Have a similar problem mine stuck closed, but my question is how to remove the boot door card without breaking any plastic clips ?

Hello Wilky423.
Best advise is to buy a set of plastic prise tools from a motor shop. Or fashion from the missus best cutlery a fork splaying to correct width. This would allow purchase around the plastic poppers. There generally robust but worth using the correct tools to avoid the dreaded cold fear after seeing residue of broken on the floor.

Don't know if I was lucky, I pulled from the bottom and they all came out, not one broken . Have you tried disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes? Some others on here says that usually resets the window.
