Hi All, I’m after a lower or bottom dashboard without a speaker if possible, for a 1998 Sreg defender 300tdi.
Unfortunately the last owners cut away the dashboard to fit a metal box to fit a radio and switches and never finished it, so I want to put it back to original.

Howsit goin, got the same motor. Did a rebuild on it and like yourself replaced some parts of the interior as it had a hard life. Found it pretty hard to find bits but did have some joy on eBay with a couple of 4x4 breakers and private sellers. A jumble might bring something up for you if you get to one.

Hi thanks for the reply, been looking on eBay and as you probably know some prices are very high. Will keep looking, in process of improving the earth path through several link wires, then will deep clean chasing and treat it. Have you rustproofed the chassis, what did you use?
I was looking to use Nhou.

I did mate. It was new galvanised so it was etch prime then primer and then chassis black. Couple of coats of that. Once that was done I sprayed cavity wax into every nook and cranny so I hope I never weld again! I gave my welder to a mate who’s starting on a series 3 rebuild anyway. I’m still lookin for a couple of bits of the cab interior but the stuff is hens teeth.
