My recently aquired 2001 TD5 has been lovingly polished by previous owners and so, unfortunately has all the black accessories ie door handles, wheel arches and so on. A simple question. How can I get everything back to black again?

Thanks:)

Go to your local Autosupplies and ask for a can of satin trim black, this is IMHO the best. mask up areas and spray away results are amazing, dries really nice and will make all those tired grey/dull look like new. I use it for the front plastics, grill and bumpers on my 300Tdi. Hope this helps

Basically waft a blowtorch over the surface of the plastic around 1 1/2" away from the cone of the flame to warm the plastic. ISTR it definately works on 300Tdi bumperettes and wing mirrors but not rear numberplate light/door handle bit.
Brings out the oils in the plastic or summat and lasts 10x as long as anything you can rub into the plastic!
If it will work you will see the difference as soon as you heat the plastic, is you see no difference remove the heat straight away or you'll melt it!

When I had my freelander I used linseed oil that my son had for his cricket bats, I just rubbed in on the bumpers, mirrors, door trims etc and buffed it up and they looked great for weeks, used to top it up once a month.

But dont over apply it or it will be wet and dust will stick to it. £2.50 bottle lasted me over a year as well

Not tried it on my Disco yet
