So after the faffing involved in replacing the drivers door latch, I now need to replace the back door one as well  Found one on LRDirect, but I'm confused with the part numbers on their website.

One of them is an 'Original Part from Land Rover UK' with a 2 year warranty, priced at £70 and the other is an 'Original Part from Land Rover UK' with a 1 year warranty, priced at £87, can anyone let me know what the difference is between these two items and why the one with a shorter warranty is more expensive? o_O

Thanks

From another post on the sameish subject.

I always understood the suffix C8, L8 etc used by lrdirect are supplier codes they use.

Any concersn give them a call, they are very helpful
Cheers

Give them a call in the AM , will be a guaranteed answer. I suspect different suppliers for the same part with different discount rates and warranty terms.

Cheers

Or it could be a clerical error and someone has mistyped the info.

After all the D2 locks never fail ........;), so they have probably never sold one...Honest.
I just got a 2nd hand one off of a friends breaker, as it is easy enough to change if it fails.

Cheers

I did consider getting a 2nd hand one as it looks like the rear door latch is a lot easier to change than the front door.

Those which are the last on the list at Lrdirect with 1 year warranty "Brand : Land Rover" are ordered by the store from a LR main dealer and it's theyr policy to give only 1 year warranty( these are never in stock, always ''subject to LR stock), the others which are "Brand: LR" are coming from other cheaper supplier, just click on the one with 2 years warranty and see the supplier then compare with the other ;)

btw IMO it's not easyer at all to replace the latch on the back side door unless you mean tail door, that's easyer

+1 ^^^^
All of the side doors are just as much of a faff, the only difference between them and the driver's door is the coupling pin between the door lock and the latch assembly. I've not had to replace the tail gate latch ....... yet.. That's just put the kiss of death on it!
