hi all
im hoping someone can help with my back door (oh er)
i only got another td5 recently and the back door is jammed shut
i have tried searching but cant find the right answer
my do is shut and locked if i press the remote or dash switch it clonks inside but wont open so ive removed the door card to find that its been played with all ready , the top pop up bit was in the bottom of the door not connected and the lever that connect to the outside works fine and ive tried wd40
the inside handle is connected but alas not working
i can see 1 large lever and a small one which then fell off as i touched it
so im now stuck not sure what to do next is there any part i need to pull/push that will release the door so i can replace the lock?
or does anyone have a diagram so i can see how to dismantle it
thanks in advance
andy

I don't know how it all links together yet sorry. You do mean the back door with the spare wheel on it and not a rear passenger door? If so, for what it's worth I can offer this gem of info passed on via a neighbour who used to work at the local LR dealership: Prise off the Land Rover badge from the handle and then oil the springs and shaft you see in there. If the spring doesn't push the handle down after you've released it, then that can cause issues up to and including having to get at the mechanism by removing the inner door card to sort it out.

No didt take to long I'm sure
I have tried the wd40 badge trick and still the same what worries my is that
Someone's been messing with it hence the little lever dropping off and the rest in the
Bottom of the door
Not sure what else to try now
Thanks

Don't know if this is a tad extreme for your problem, but it might help...
Disco Tailgate Lock

EDIT: found this from another forum - child lock!
"
Well, after tried a bit more and thinking of what could be the problem I came up with the idea of an issue with the child lock. And with a trim clips removal tool I was able to move the child lock to both lock and unlock position even if the door was closed, thanks to its position it was just to bend the interior rubber seal a little to get access. This did the trick and the door opened, problem solved! "
