im amazed how many 90's ive seen for sale over the last few months from owners who claim they're selling on due to having kids! Ive seen so many conversations about rear seat belts etc and have seen the rear seats you can fit from whatyacallem company which are suitable for kiddies seats.... so why dont these landy owners fit em for the sake of a few hundred rather than the hassle of selling up and buying somethin else?? i need 2 baby seats in my car but my car is the toy... i could get a 110 but its a fookin big vehicle just for me to potter about in, a 90 probably suit my needs better but theres gotta be some reason why other people dont do it?!

aye ive read that post in the link but i dont wanna put adults in the back, or any kind of stuff! the only stuff would be shoppin or a pushchair!

difference in this thread and that one is i asked about the forward facing seats you can stick in the back.

I think DefenderDavey put a pair of forward facing seats in his 90 so he can carry his 2 kids safely. Cost him the best part of £600:eek: IIRC. If I was in that position I might have considered selling the 90 putting the £600 quid in the pot and using the money to buy a 110.

Wot he said, after all the kids have got to be safer in a factory fitted seat than a aftermarket one. also if you put forward afacing seats in a 90 there is no room left for owt else.

I put a p[air of Transit seats in the back of my 90, means i have to lift the kids over the bulkhead to put them in and the load area is loads smaller but i don't normaly need a huge space and if i do, they bolt out in 10 mins. They have inertia seat belts integrally attached for booster seats or baby seats and the girls love it as they are facing forward in a high up position, the push chair fits in behind em as does a box of bits, doris can go in the front, ideal really - and they only cost me £20 from a chap off of here (via ebay!)

It mainly because most people just can't be arsed dicking around fitting seats that the motor wasn't designed to have, and the 110 is generally a lot more useful than the 90 as a utility vehicle.

That said, the side facing fold up rear seats are perfectly OK for older kids, jus that the nanny state pokes its fekkin nose in and says they're not

defender 90's aint safe for ral young kids i rekon.too many sharp eges, rough surfaces, zero safety features. i'd never have a baby in one. and defo not in front seat!

my 2yr old sits happy in her seat in the front. she loves it - she strapped safe and one things for sure - shes way safer in my landy with all her edges than some heap of a fiesta/corsa/escort etc etc

tough on dad that he has to go in the back :D
