I was wanting to buy a recon gearbox from these guys, based on a recommendation.

I can't seem to get through to the them, the number on their website doesn't connect. Anyone know if they are still trading or not?

Failing that, can anyone recommend somewhere that sells recon Series 3 gearboxes.

Ashcroft used to get there boxes from whitehouse!! Mine managed 750 miles before being rebuilt again ( I dealt direct with whitehouse for the rebuild) in all honesty wouldn't bother with another series box would try and fit something a bit stronger!

Bit of an update.

I actually emailed the address on their website before posting this originally.

After a few days I did get a replay from a Dennis Martin, saying new number was a mobile number.

I've phoned this number a lot of times. All it does is ring and eventually go to a Tesco voice mail service. I've left a message asking for a call back.

I've had no reply.

I did email again, but no reply to that. And the last time I tried the land line number on their website it still was not a recognised number according to the BT lady.

All I can surmise is, that they currently aren't trading.

I PM'd you his email address that I use regularly tho..

I do wonder, if a company is hard to get hold of to BUY somthing from them, what are they like in aftersales if there is a problem.

That's the email address on their webiste, and the one I emailed before posting this thread.

As it happens, I got a 2nd reply yesterday. However that has been 5 days since I emailed saying I couldn't get anyone on the number.

The email said, "you might need to try several times".. on the mobile number.

Fair enough, but I did try quite a bit and over several days.

The price for what I wanted has also increased massively. Nearly 100% more than the price listed on their website.

All in all, as I don't know these people personally, I'm not sure I'd want to hand over money and "hope" something was delivered. As they seem far too difficult to get hold of.
