Well, we knew it was possibly an issue, as some bloody savage had "fixed" the sun roofs in the past... with waterproof fibreglass shed paint.

Bad weather has rather exposed the issue, cars wedged under a shed and I need a beer.

That is a darn nice repair that someone has done there..............Good luck making that right.

Always makes me wonder why people cannot be bothered to fix the issue properly.......

Cheers

When I had a wet roof lining I found it wasn't the sun roof but the roof bars that were letting in water. Took everything off and sealed with silicone and all has been fine since. Getting roof lining out is not too difficult, just take your time to locate all the fixings.

The crazy thing is , it is not a difficult thing to fix, if you take your time , remove the roof lining, reseal sunroofs, roof bars. A couple of hours and it is job done.

Cheers

isn't it the drainage pipes, holes that block up

Can be, or they pipe connections snap off. The couple I have looked at it was the outside seal between the roof and the sunroof surround.

saw one where a guy had taken all the headlining out, then used a 5/16 sleeve where the hose had broken off,

all done and dusted , was on a D2

I honestly wouldn't have minded if it didn't leak, ugly is okay it it's functional.

Thankfully, the shed paint doesn't appear to have stuck to the car paint all that well, so I reckon I can get most of it off with some plastic scrapers and some time (and have a few rattle cans to hand for when it all goes wrong).

I've had a few looks at the leak fixing guides, all seems relatively simple, just time consuming.
