yeah thats wat undone the other back one, but this one is ****in tucked away!noo room to get any movement with a spanner it seems

just bog standard land rover logo brown ex craddocks ones...mine stink of 10 years of mutt!

I had the same problem after christmass. I eventually got it off from underneath with 10 mil (I think) ring spanner and a vicegrips on the end of the bolt. Hope this helps

gonna have a rest now and fit it when it stops RAINING!!!
tackled the side step for dorris...that was a fookin laugh!
two broken drill bits, a cut hand and two trips down B&Q...FFS

new bolt problem!the same one but on the drivers side..so back right.
its about half out, but stops there...underneath i'm holdin the nut still, and the one above, and trying to undo the bolt but it just wont undo anymore!!til I get this fixed i'm without a landy cos two of the other three fixing rust had em and they've broken off so I can'y even fit the old seat back for **** sake!

Loosen it with a ring spanner then get a ratchet spanner on it.

cheers disco, the initial problem bolt has been sorted....its the rear right on the drivers side thats the bitch now...like I said, its about half way out, so can easily get a socket on it, but it just wont undo any further..underneath the nut is goining around with the bolt, would moleys get a good enough grip on that nut underneath for the bolt to be continued to be undone with a socket from above do people think??!properly ****ed off now, been at it ALLLLL DAYYYYY!!!

The nuts are welded to plates which are riveted to the seatbox to create a captive nut.

The rivet corrodes and then it lets the plate spin, when mine started spinning I managed to stick a nail in it, through the seatbox into the plate and that held it still again.

When the bolt came out it fell down and i just rivited it back in place after a clean up, coat of paint and some copper slip into the nut.

rite dint have mole pliers, do now. will try that, if not then i guess i'l have to cut the bolt, and drill a new hole in the seat runner and landy...really dont wanna do that!

sounds like you need a grinder, a drill and a few basic tools. If you can get to both sides cut it off, drill it out, and put new bolts in,
1hr max surely?
