Average MPG TD4 XS

Hi, just picked up my new Freelander 2 (Blooming Lovely), couple of questions.
On a 600 mile journey top speed of 70 I managed an average 40 MPG is ths good and if not how could I improve it.

Also I managed to connect my HTC Desire HD phone via Bluetooth but saw an option on my phone for playing Music via Bluetooth, is it possible with the standard McAlpine radio fitted to the Freelander XS? If not I guess I'll just connect via Aux.

Bit disappointed with the location of the Aux connector and the fact hat there is no USB.

it will improve after about 5000 miles, and after its first service it will fall dramatically, and then gradually come good again..........
