what avarage do you get from your diesels when cruising 110km/h ??
got 1,1-1,25/10km on my 550km run yesterday , think it´s a bit much ???

It´s much easier to calulate l/10km , most countries does that

It´s easy to understand why , a mile is something around 1600 m , a km is exactly 1000m
a gallon is somewhat 4 l ???
a litre is exactly 1000ml , so I really do understand why two or three countries in the world use Mpg :your_wrong:

1 mile = 1.609344 kms , 1 gallon = 4.45609 ltrs. by the way. Why admit that I am wrong? I never said that either method of calculation was right. I just stated the method I used. In your original post you could not decide exactly how many ltrs you were using per 100 kls. Not very accurate IMO.:mooning:

anyway , if I manage to recalculate from mpg to L/10km , how much should a "normal" consumption be ?

You should have paid more attention at school

My 2.5 DSE returned me 29.9 MPG on my last trip, cruising at 70-80 MPH.

On average across all driving I used to get 24mpg on my DHSE, which equates to 11-12 l/100km. Consumption is probably a bit higher at higher speeds.

Personally I prefer the mpg system as I think it's more useful to think how far you can get with the fuel you have, rather than how much fuel you'll need to go an arbitrary distance.

My long term average is 24mpg, long runs at 110kmh it gets up to 28/29mpg.

Ok ,then i guess the consumption of diesel was rather normal , considering winter tyres (not studded) and using the cruise control most of the journey , the use of water on the other hand was huge!!! , the hose from the header tank to the heater to the front end of the block cracked , thank god for 24/7 filling stations .

Doing the conversion, mine averages 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres and around 9.7 litres per 100 kilometres cruising at 110Kmh on the autoroute.

My average, from 800 kms at around 130km/h on the freeway is 12.0 lt/100km with 16" General Grabbers AT2.
My best tank ever gave me 10.5lt/100km and was a mix of freeway and flat country roads.
