I have just replaced the filter in the autobox. I drained 2 litres out and put 3 litres back. Followed the procedure from Haynes. Is this correct?

Yes, you have replaced the ATF and now refilled with the correct quantity required, following the correct LR procedure as u stated.
Refilling with 3 litres but only being able to remove 2 suggests that the quantity of ATF in the box was lower than it should have been, before you started.

I never been there, but I understand that around 4.5 litres is the amount normally drained, maybe thats just for the box fitted to the D1 and RRc

As long as you cycled it throught the gears, then topped it up with the engine still running in P or maybe N, and only stopped when it flowed out steadily, then that should be OK.

There should be totally 9,7 litres of oil in that transmission and usually it should come out about half of it from the sump if the oil was not low in the box, 2 litres out and 3 in doesnt sound good enough to me. To refresh the oil well you have to change it at least 2 times consecutively which means after you changed it first go for a ride as the box to go several times through all gears to mix well all the oil then change it again, this way the oil will be about 80% refreshed, adding 3 litres of fresh oil to a capacity of 9,7 litres is just a botch, less than 1/3 of the oil is fresh this way.

Still waiting to hear how he did it.
The quantities don't seem to add up to me and I have done this job so I know roughly how much should come out and go back in.
Tis true about needing to do this again soon to get a higher proportion of new stuff in there.
What colour was the stuff that came out?
