the housing that fastens to engine that torque convertor sits in some auto discos are edc which means a crank sensor sits in top drivers side of bell housing ,housings can be swapped if you stand gear box upright with bell housing facing up ,undo all the 17mm headed bolts and tap housing off pump housing sat directly beneath it ,pump housing is held with the same bolts so may come off too if your not carefull

Am not Reyt sure bout that I don't no naff all bout mechanics lol been told to find one that's got the short shaft into the gearbox that's all I no

Did it stop the slipping into gear
Just did mine as part of a service, but it does make quite a difference. If your oil is old it's viscosity will be greatly reduced, hence the pressure in the clutch packs will not be what it should be. This could be part of your problem. It's also a reasonably cheap way to find out if your box is actually knackered.j

As has already been pointed out though, if the fluid out of the gearbox is as bad as he's confirming it is, the box IS knackered.

There's no point doing a service on a gearbox that is going to have to come out.

if necessary yes but before you fit anoyther gearbox you measure distance of rear face on engine drive plate back to rear of engine face, then measure depth of torque convertor fastening lug to face of bell housing ,torque convertor must sit further in by 1-2 mm than drive plates sticks out

I got a quote en cheapest deal Is 200 to fit it 4 me if I supply a box does this sound about right
