hi peter thanks for the reply, its a defender td5 2001, the lights stoped working , so i replaced the dim dip relay and the dim dip switch on the steering , also had to replace the wiper morot as it was nackered now the wipers run in the wrong direction no lights work including the brake lights and indicators the rear window wiper keeps blowing the fuses and the stereo goes on and off when ever it feels like it , i dont know how to fix this will need somebody that knows what they are doing , , hope to hear any of your comments , many thanks

Sounds like something is wrong with the wiring, but why don't you post on the Defender section of the Forum? More folks there with Defenders that can probably help.

You maybe got the wipers hooked up 180degrees outa sink I reckon.
when you had the relay out did ya mess with any others, and when you had the steering shroud off you coulda inadvertantly bumped a connection loose maybe.

sounds to me like an earth problem, mixed with a loose live for the rear wiper.
post in the Defender section with as much info as you can and no doubt somebody will have the answer

thanks for the replys, i took it to a local auto sparks this afternoon, i have posted on the 90/110 forum but no replys, i wont know until tommorow whats the problems i will keep you posted
