right i know chuff all about auto box's

but the one on our mitsi although it drives perfect, never seems to really put its power down and lock up ?

i know its not a landy but i thought it the best area to put it, as it was car related at least!

it also seems very eager to slip down a gear from top when going up the slightest of inclines. Obviously this isnt helping full economy.

any tips? or obvious things I should check.

i was going to replace the tranny fluid for a start but dont really know what im looking for to be honest. Its a mitsubishi 2.8 challenger (same as shogun). Making sure I get the right fluid as I have heard they are picky about what fluid is in them.

mrs loves the thing. Its quiet, comfy, lets her blend in with the other school mums so se doesnt feel left out....

First thing to check would be kickdown cable may need adjusting (I believe it should be adjusted to 35mm), . Next would be a good oil flush, filter change and refil. If its still happening then its a new gearbox needed, my friends Pajero has just developed this issue and its down to an ageing auto box...

just rang a mate at mitsubishi, he is going to pop over tomorrow and do an oil flush for me etc and have a looksee over it. Its freezing out and as he is only charging me 20 notes to to it... its not worth me getting cold :)
