Aussie locker

Bare with me new to 4x4. Not sure if Maxidrives are the same as Aussie locker. Looked it up on the Tube. Can't see what it does in the diff. All I get are larger 24 splined shafts.
Aussie locker as I'm sure you know replace the spider gears and give true four wheel drive. The only drawback I can see is the noise it makes as you drive round corners. A clicking sound as one wheel moves faster than the other.
I thought it was an easier option than air lockers and such.
Also not sure if they would fit a discovery. I can't see any reason why not.

sounds like you mean a Detroit locker
 
i would agree with detroit, aussie locker looks like a similar mechanism that you can fit into the right diff carrier which doesnt seem to include lr even if you did have 4 pin housing
