Disco 2 Audio Question

Hi all,

Can anybody tell me if a XQD000340PUY Head Unit will work in my 2002 Discovery 2 please, or would I need the XQD101400LNF? my Disco had an aftermarket Panasonic unit and I want to put it back to original so I can use the steering wheel controls and multi changer under the drivers seat, also if anybody has one that will work going cheap and can post to Shetland I am interested

If it's any help, the head unit in my Disco 2 (2004) is the XQD000340PUY.

When or if you do re-install the original type head unit you might face a bit of a rat's nest of modified wiring, particularly with the output circuits; the Alpine head unit drives low level audio outputs to a power amplifier which should be found mounted under the front passenger's seat.

Hi Brian,

there appears to be a brown plug coming from the black box under P/S that I am assuming is the amp, not had a right look yet at amp and multi changer, M/C Cassette wont eject so thinking no power going to that either.

Can you not get an afterarket stereo with the adaptor to use the steering wheel controls ?

May be easier than trying to find an OE spec stereo.
