Series 2 Attn: Rivet counters - which colour was this?

G'day rivet counters,

Do any of you happen to know the name of the colour that was used for this part on my 1965 series 2a 2,25 litre diesel engine?

Black. Or sky blue pink with yellow dots on for the special edition.

Thought they were metallic rainbow

Black. Although yours is in 'Parisian dustbin lid'.

Rust coloured? Nah, go for black, it almost certainly was originally unless there's a military history to justify duck egg blue. Personally do not like the latter. Unless you want to bling it up with chrome, but that would look stupid.

The engine block does indeed seem to be in the duck egg blue - perhaps the oil filter housing and the oil filler cap were also in that colour as well?

As for the lettering - does anyone know if you can get a transfer for it?

Brilliant - thanks - that's it.

Though I think the original lettering was painted and not a sticker.

I wonder if I can find my craft knife and an old potatoe...

Maybe put the sticker on, cut the lettering out with a scalpel, spray and then remove the remainder of the sticker that you used as a mask??? - lots of patience and a steady hand required though - Think I'd just put the sticker on?

I think the special edition had yellow sunflowers on ! .. your thinking of the GT model with spots & go faster stripes.

Is the cream colour that often goes with this green called Limestone?
