About an hour ago I chased off a bloke trying to pinch the headlights out of my Discovery td5. Unfortunately I didn't get his reg as he scuttled off but he was in a dark coloured Vauxhall astra/Vectra old style (pre millennium). He's bust the clip on the light but luckily everything's still intact and working. If you live in the area keep your eyes open, stun guns fully charged and the Rottweiler's hungry!

My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Owner of a damaged landrover, wife of a fed up husband. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

There's some cctv footage of a pair of D2 lights being nicked in daylight in a busy supermarket car park, the whole thing took less than 40 seconds. If I can find the vid I'll put a link up. Personally if I had a D2 with these sort of lights I would fit the pre upgrade lights as nobody would bother to pinch them.

The upgraded D2 lights are nice, but not worth having them if there at risk, :( sad really cus I do likes them

I live in West Yorkshire, the Bermuda Triangle of facelift lights, and I have just bought a pre-facelift Disco 2. I ruled out the facelift models for exactly this reason even though I think they look loads better. Local landy specialist was telling me of some poor guy in Sowerby Bridge who is on his 4th set.

If they have screws on the outside can you change them for security screws?
And set up a camera too for next time.

I have seen aluminium...or alooominum if you are American.....strips that run from the slam panel to somewhere underneath and go across the centre of the light so they cant be pulled out. Or would normal light-guards not work if you fiddled with the bolt heads?
