At the risk of sounding 'anal': Ashtray problem!

Hi All,

Picked up my P38 today, it's lovely, the wife is unsure, but I love it.

One of the few niggles that needs sorting is that the ashtray wont stay closed, how is it held closed, anyone else had this problem and how do I sort it?

I had the same trouble when I got my P38, what I found was I just had to press quite hard in the middle of the ash tray and it just clicks.

they're held in by a small clip and theres a spring which helps it come out, usually they get full of crud, you know, crisps, fluff, sticky ****.

pull the ashtray out and clean the sliders and make sure the little clip up inside the slot isn't broken and is free to move side to side.
