asking for advice on 1980 series3

the normally aspirated diesel 110's are pretty gutless, but the 110 itself is a great truck, I sorely regret selling mine even though it was diesel, If you want a lwb I would get it in petrol or maybe with a more modern turbo diesel in it like a 200 or 300 tdi.

how about finding one in Australia and making an adventure driving it home via papua and the phillipines - no idea if there are ferries between those places and japan - or the longer route through Malaysia Vietnam etc.

I went to dealer auction and prices are very high here. 1990 Defender with 110,000 km went for 10,500 pounds - looked like already rust started...

So, i think i will get the series 3 but will try to lower the price to around 1,000 pounds.

Anyone has a list of parts that would be needed for a complete restoration (wearable parts) - like bushings, bearings, gaskets, seals, rubber etc - that would be a standard thing to replaced on original 1980 series3 during complete restoration. It would help me with estimating the cost.
Thanks for help.

Hi,
finaly yesterday i picked up the landy...
The car can not even push it - maybe brakes or handbreak is frozen stuck. Hope i can solve this before i will start taking everything apart.
Another problem - the carburator is missing :( so i will need to find one. Since i need get replacement - which carb would be better:
original Zenith or Weber ?
should i look for used one or better to buy new?

thanks,
stan
