Ash's 1986 110 csw resto

Hi all this is the landy I bought!
Bought for a high price with 6 months MOT (supposedly) couldn't actually use it for reasons I'll show later however 1 day in and with 2 sets of hands she now looks like this!

She now like this

Anyone know what this is? I've never seen this before. Is it worth repairing or removing?

Is it a self levelling unit ?

Could be I'm not sure there's nothing external apart from what appears to be an attached accumulater of some description but there's no obvious height adjustment looks like a normal shock to me????

Just done some research and your correct mate a self leveling unit best corse of action removal and fit tougher springs was toying with the idea of a 2 inch lift anyway! Thanks again!

Next question does any one make these? Where the a frame mounts? Mine has calapsed and been poorly repaired/bodged at some point. Need to know if I'm repairing or can fit new

This question was asked the other week, iirc, the consensus was that no one knew where to source a new replacement A frame crossmember.

Re the self lever.
Lots of opinions but I tried running my RRC with it removed and it never felt right so don't throw it away just yet.

So quiet night on the night shift and been brain storming. as I'm going to hopefully be fitting a full roll cage. I also quite like the looks of the challenge tube wings has anyone made a flip front version? The only problem I can forsee is the attachment to bulkhead or cab roll cage for the purposes of quick release etc? Also I really like the triangle shaped front where A lot of the front tyre is exposed but what is the legality of this with MOT and the fuzz etc
