Beats the British way any day of the week, allowing our own to be captured for nearly 12months and paying massive ransoms allowing the pirates to equip themselves further, we are meant to have the best in the world in the form of the S.A.S / S.B.S - pretty pointless if nobody has the balls to send them to work!

the S.B.S were ready to go and got half way there fully prepped to get them off the yacht before they got ashore, got held up at some gay countries airport whlst another plane was loaded and missed them. fookin typical crappy political bull****e.

Ha, serves them right!
It reminds me of a book I read, written by a US sub-commander, which had a chapter about the Royal Navy showing a similar no-nonsense willingness to take action during the years of the Cold War:
A US listening station had picked up an array of sonar bouys that had been placed by the Soviets in international waters in the Barents sea off Norway. There was great concern in the US Navy and intelligence services, as international law made it just as illegal for the Americans to remove them, as it had been for the Russians to put them there in the first place. Amidst all the diplomatic efforts and struggles they had word from the listening stations that the bouys had stopped pinging. A few days later they were told by their allies in Britain that the Royal Navy had used the bouys for target practice and sunk the lot of them! :D:D
I guess the rules and regulations of modern treaties and socitey has blunted the sword somewhat.....
