arrgh!!!
more problems with this bleeping car
hi all, right this time ive got problems with the clutch.
its a 1.8 freelander serengheti on an 02 plate, i replaced the master cylinder and slave cylinder all in one thingy 3 weeks ago after snaped out of the mounting bracket, it also snaped part of the bracket,
after a little spot weld all was reasembled and has worked fautless untill 2 hours ago when it has done exatly the same again.
is there something im missing?
could there be a problem with the cluth/gearbox thats causing more pressure than there should be when clutch is depressed?

any help would be greatly appriciated.

hi markyzs180, ive been searching but havent found anything, im still finding my way around, any hints on what to search for?

Vissie thanks for the reply, how could i tell if the arms siezed? ive tryed moving it and it wouldnt budge, but i guess there under a lot of pressure anyway1

i know the feeling had a lot of trouble and costs with my freelander clutch gearbox out three times in less than 2 years. solved the problem got shot of it and bought a td4 auto wish id done it from the start.

im up for just burning it, and enjoying watching it burn, a bit of pay back for all the headaches, BUT its the wifes and she loves it. maybe i should make her fix the bloody thing, see how long she keeps it for then.:scratching_chin:

Hi,the clutch arm should have a bit of "freeplay" in it about 3/4" as i was told by my local dealer. If your struggling with the bracket repair,i have a spare used one here that i replaced when i didnt need to,yours for a few beer tokens...lol:)

Yes, if you disconnect the clutch pedal from the master cylinder - it just flicks off. Then you can safely remove the slave from the bracket and latch it back onto the 2 plastic arms that are attached to the piston cap. Once that is done remove it from the bracket, there should be around 1" movement in the arm. If there isnt , then you have found your issue. The hydraulics failure was merely a symptom of your fault and not your fault.
