are these really oem lifters

You never can tell. Ive just written on my last thread that there was no difference between the originals and the britpart ones. My britpart ones came in individual sealed bags with lots of oil in them. I payed £60 for mine from island-4x4, with free postage over £50. They take paypal next day delivery and you will always need a lot more than just lifters to do that job and are cheapest for all the parts i needed.
 
Have you got a quote from LR? If you are only talking £20-£30 differential - why take the risk? The Rover V8 is particularly hard on its lifters - I can't see the point of taking a risk for the price of a curry! Unless the engine is being bodged and the car sold on for maximum profit.
