the ecu has to pedal maps, the engine and throttle are more sensitive in hi range, try unpluging the hi / lo sensor, it will have alot longer throttle pedal
If you do that the ECU wont know when you have selected low range and wont change the pedal setting from the high range 1/3 travel option. When you do go off road in low range the vehicle will be almost undriveable as the pedal will be too sensitive. Thats why LR made it like that. Get the pedal setting changed on the ECU and it wont be a problem any more.

i think i would just try it to see if it makes a diffrence i wouldnt leave it off
 
just to update this ive sloved the real problem it was the EGR that caused this . after disconnecting the vacuum line on the intake and pluged it the defender was transformed loads of power and quick acceleration and sounds amazing when pushing it through the gears . im very happy with it now

the only reason that the EGR was still connected was i though i did it already but it was our Disco that it did :doh:
