For the Disco it cost just a tadge over £800 inclusive of the VAT. Sounds a lot but thats the complete kit with strengthened halfshafts. Price it all up for an ARB and it will cost more.

Just had a peek at the KAM website Sheddy and wondered if you could clarify if the front locker includes strengthened half shafts and CV joints?

It includes the half shafts but not the CV joints. When you do the CV joint upgrade they include the fused stubshafts. What they do is machine a groove around the stub shaft to create a weak point, that way if anything is to fail it will be the stub shaft. These can be changed in minutes iof/when they fail rather than having to strip out the axle if a half shaft gives up. There is a spare stub shaft supplied with every conversion kit.

can i ask what the cv joints are and how they affect this arb locker im hoping to have or will the mechanic just know this?

the CV joint is the bit that takes drive to the front wheels when they are turned by the steering wheel. When the locker is engaged there will be increased strain on these when turning left or right and (i think) they be the weakest part of the front axle.
