still having a few problems with mine, mainly the EAS. I think i have a faulty diagnostic plug so i could do with resetting my ECU in another car.

Secondly i'm having problems with high and low ratio gears. Whilst messing around with my EAS ecu i found under the passenger seat another one unplugged. So i pluged it in and got a transfer neutral error message. Then after a fuse blew for the tailgate the other week i found a fuse in the transfer neutral place which i removed. Since then i'm getting select nuetral message all the time. Any ideas???

Thanks

Hi r.rover,

What sort of P38 is it? Petrol/diesel/man/auto etc.

Not had the same problem as you, however whilst trying to get mine sorted I removed the ratio motor off the TB and check the position of the transfer shaft and that it worked - moved OK by hand. The shaft only does three quarters of a turn from Hi to Lo so be sure it does, you may need two wheels off the floor and someone to help you to just move the wheels gently so it go's into the gears ok. Neutral is in the middle.

Counter clockwise is Hi when looking onto the shaft end that sticks out of the TB. When I put the ratio motor back on all I got was "select neutral" so with a careful look it was the motor ever so slightly in the wrong position so the motor internal switches where giving a incorrect reading - so I took the motor off again check the shaft position and then moved the motor with a 12v battery charger with it off the TB - took three/four go's until I had the motor matching the change shaft position and the fixing screw holes - bingo no "select neutral" message. Now runs perfectly well in Hi ratio without any distractions

Still have to sort my ECU out but now I know alls well machanically

Good luck

Chris

thanks for the advice, chris

Its a 4.0 se auto petrol/lpg

High box seems to work fine other than the selest nuetral messege and the flashing green lights around the gearstick.

Wheres the best place to start with it?

Thanks

Has does mine. It appears that one of the s/w's may have come loose. For me I would make sure the ratio motor is stoppped in the correct position, it seems one of the internal s/w's is not reading correctly and this will do away with the "select neutral" all the time and stop the lights from flashing. Having done that you have then possibily got the same problem as I have and that you will need a new TB ECU its located under the passenger seat. In the manual its marked Z256, have you got your self a copy of the "Rave" download? Well worth it.
