OK, I'm not having much luck through the usual sources so thought I'd ask on here. I'm after something quite specific as I am planning to drive to Morocco next year, and need a sound vehicle to get me there. So, I am after either:
- A Range Rover Classic, ideally a 300Tdi soft dash but a 'hard dash' or 200Tdi is fine. Would much prefer an auto over a manual, and would ideally like a later-model (1991-onwards) Vogue SE rather than a Vogue - but condition is more important than spec. I cannot stress enough how important it is that the car is mechanically and structurally sound - i.e. no rotten sills, rotten footwells, rusted wheel arches, knackered rear cross members, rotten boot floors, etc. Rotten tailgate not so bad, can be easily replaced, but it's gotta be a solid vehicle, please.
OR
- A Range Rover P38 diesel. Must be an auto and would much prefer a car that still has the EAS rather than a coil spring conversion. Not too fussed about the bodywork, but must be mechanically sound and a nice interior as I'll be spending a lot of time in it. Want working EAS, working HEVAC, etc but not too fussed if there's some minor niggles to sort out.
Budget for this is anything up to £3k, but £3k is my absolute limit for the base vehicle - £2-£2.5k would be better as it gives me a small slush fund for repairs.
Let me know what you've got!
