Oh bugga, the rear caliper pistons on my '02 DCPU are rusty as hell, and there's no chance they are gonna go back.

Has anyone tried fitting Zeus stainless piston with new seals? was it an easy job? any probs etc?

Changing pistons is easy, it's fitting new outer seal that's a bugger. I got Safari engineering to do them as they have a very thin metal rim on them that is very easily deformed which then makes them useless. Probably easy to do with the right tool.

Must confess I'm with James

Just swapped out all my callipers using the £45 back/£75 front ones from Paddocks

I toyed with replacing the pistons, but was nervous that if they leaked I'd have wasted time and pennies

New callipers easily - only hassle was 2 rounded bolts and completely seized brake pipes!

It's a toss up on whether you want to do the work or just fit new.
I was happy to rebuild my calipers and unlike many I had no problems whatsoever with the seals & retaining rings (quite a few people do seem to have trouble with them). I used Britpart pistons & seals and as I was upgrading to vented discs I split the calipers to fit the sandwhich plate, 5-years later still no worries.

The right tool is a big hammer and a radius arm washer.
Did eight with no issues whatsoever.
