anyone tried a turbo kit from ebay are they worth the bother?

Hi everyone got a 300tdi 90 want more power from it otherwise its getting sold for a newer one seen a kit on ebay for £2300 that has a vnt turbo and new manifold uprated pump and uprated intercooler with all the pipes to make it work just wondering if they are any good or not what's the performance going to be like compared with a td5 tdci i like my old uncomplicated 300tdi don't really want to part with it just need more from it

Just how much power do you want out of a 20 year old tratter?

for that price, i'd drop another engine in if you really want it. though i don't see the point, they are what they are.

Try Turbo Centre UK, they will do a recon hybrid turbo on an exchange basis for about £400. A lad I know fitted one to his and was very happy. Unlike a VGT you will still experience turbo lag at lower revs.

You have to be careful what you buy on ebay when it comes to turbos. I would never install a no name turbo in anything...well I once did hence this post.

A friend of mine decided that he would take the risk and had us install a kit on his Civic. lasted two months and then totally disintegrated and gave him a specticular blow up.

I can highly recommend turbocentreuk, they refurbished my 200tdi turbo and were very helpful over the phone too.
