Hi, fairly new to this site but was just browsing eBay and came across item 110802322684
Looks fishy to me, deffo not a series 3 88" and looks to me like a late 90's 300tdi,
Check it out and hopefully someone might recognise it as there old truck hiding behind some plates.....

That's a tdi not td. Def a 90.

Whilst it is very obvious that thousands have been spent on it he doesn't actually mention it. I mean if it was mine I would be proud to announce all the work that had gone into it.

I think it's a dealer that has had the wool pulled well and truly over his eyes, anyone that knows defenders could tell from 100yards always it's not what It says it is, not even one of those "bits of this & bits of that" ringers

its al 300 tdi if you ask me.
Dealer????? he is`nt very litterate, not saying i am, but i suspect he spells as he speaks
if ya no wat eye mean

Which bit is from 1980?
Looks like a 300tdi, not 2.5td.

Surely if its his he would know about it.

Why has it only got mot data from 2006?

Agree, this is well dodgy. The fact that there is no history and the MOT is only available on the DVLA website!
Shame ebay don't want to know about these things and they just suggest contacting the police.
Anybody local to it?

I've email this guy about his landy and this is his reply; I only had it 6 months gota get rid of it because of the London emissions, got it off a friend who had it for 4 years ??

If he was telling the truth here on original plates and as a county it would of been exempt!

I think he has made mistake of either swopping plates and believing what told. The reg comes up as what it says, but we know better. Have asked for vin number.

"Vin" is properly tin plate from series 3 anyway not original
need someone to view and get closer look for original number in usual place!

Just did a basic reg check. As Chunkymonkey says before, the reg ties in with the description in the ad. Body style says 'Light 4x4 Utility', so what he says about the LEZ could be right though as from what I understand, it goes off what the V5 says.

You can see the VIN plate in one of the usual Defender places on one of his pics, so be interesting to see what he comes back with.

Went a bit further too with the check. Stumped up the £3 for a bit more info and the only flag is that there was a recorded colour change on the registration (presume to Grey). No record of a vehicle with that reg being stolen/scrapped/exported/written off/undergoing a VIC/plate change

Last registered keeper change the check says was June 2006  I guess any V5 he's got won't be the new style 'red' one

Have reported it to AVCIS anyway....
