So I’m ordering a headlining kit from Martrim, but the kits they do for discos aren’t colour matched but what looks like near match’s by other names.
https://www.martrim.co.uk/car-trimming-supplies/land-rover-headlining-kits.php

A sample will take a while to reach me
and I’m looking to order in time to finish the job while I’m isolating . With an alpaca interior it’s either got to be cream or champagne, but is cream to light?. Just wanted to know if anyone had ordered to match an alpaca interior.

thanks all

Can't believe this post, for several reasons!;)
1/ never knew alpaca was a colour, thought it was just a material type!
Guess what, it is!
https://www.alpacas-hampshire.co.uk/alpaca-colours.htm
2/ if you tell the company you want the nearest match to alpaca surely that's what they'll sell you?
3/ what feckin colour is champagne, a kind of straw colour? Not all champagne is the same colour.

Can you not just snip off a bit of hidden material from your car and send it to them?
I wish you all the best with this.:D:D:D

Yeah I could just wait for the sample but I was told a week. I’m isolating post arriving from Spain for work and just picked up a new landy hence wanting to get this big job done while I can.

As for the alpaca, that’s what the vin decoding says the colour option was, I asked the company but they didn’t know to much about it and obviously it’s my choice to get wrong so I was hoping someone who know. I guess they didn’t have a lot of “cream” options that year so hopefully some ones done this before.

Thanks for the luck, it will be worth the effort when it’s replaced.

Yeah that alpaca colour wheel is pretty useful I will send them that ;) . I will double check the colour again maybe it is just the material. I’m new to landys

I've just refitted my roof lining today after having it re-covered but I just got the std grey it came with never thought about having it colour matched , my interior is Bahama beige. (My Freelander 1 has the Alpaca interior which is lighter the the D2). If you have twin sunroofs be careful with the lining when you take it out as they bend very easily. (a couple of helpers is a must really) There's a screw under the rear sunroof switch & be careful removing the fur tree fixings as I think only the grey or black ones are available. If you need any info on removal/re-fitting give me a shout whilst it's still fresh in my memory:). Please post a pic. when it's done I'd be interested to see what it looks like, all the best.

Thanks Andy I’m going to give it a go end of next week. I was worried about the weakness of the panel so thanks for the heads up. What glue did you use?.

And I had been looking for tan or cream fur trees and not doing any, only found the grey and black so that’s why then.

I took it to a local car upholster & he only charged me £80 so I wasn't going to muck about with it for that price.
I've been looking & bahama beige fur trees are available p/no MXC5766SUC £1.20 ea. inc. vat. not sure of the length of those, they did long & short, it there the long ones you can trim them down.;)

Did the plastic interior panels come in many options? I don’t know what colour plastic trim I have. I know the seats are alpaca but does that mean the trims alpaca or is it beige?.

They did black, tundra, bahama beige I think the parts list doesn't mention alpaca for the trim. Here's a pic of mine now the boot is back together.

Depends on where you live but where I am there is a material shop that sells feckin everything
https://gb.kompass.com/c/zebedee-fabrics/gb25000712/
This is where I go for stuff like what you are looking for.
So if I was doing this job I'd go there and get summat from them, and make my own headlining. But then I am used to having to do stuff like this as I am into kit cars for which you cannot buy stuff and have to make it up as you go along!
These people
https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/
are also dead good, have used them quite a bit over the years.
If you do this you'll end up with a one off headlining.
And I remember a Wheeler Dealers where they did just this job, i.e. relining the head lining!
Best of luck and yes I too would love to see pics of the end result. :):):):)

Ahh yeah I remember that episode of wheeler dealers. The pics look great Andy it looks very clean and tidy.

well I ordered the material in the end so I will have a go at it next weekend on the end of my isolation.

Ok so it’s done and I will answer my question for anyone else that wants to know if the Martrim cream is a good alpaca match...IT IS!.

not a fun job to do on the drive on the floor on some old carpet, with wind blowing and trying to remove and sikaflex a leaky alpine window. But it’s done and it looks good.
And obviously I found/contributed to a new fault, the fuel flap actuator died at some point during the exercise and stuck open. So I’m going to need a new one of them after some experimentation I am somewhat confident it’s not a short at the loom I dislocated while getting the roof out.
