New rules at McDonalds are that the second car in the drive through queue must leave a fifteen foot gap to the first car in the queue. This so anyone with a black car or more importantly a black person in any colour of car can jump the queue. :D:D

Genuinely interested but a bit scared of the electronic stuff
But hey ho need to learn sometime
I honestly dont think the electronics are much to worry about as lo g as it hasn't suffered water ingress in the rear there good to go and just as easy to fix as a p38 with decent diag

Had various Classics and Discos and now have a P38 which is wonderful apart from just doing the normal air bags, exhaust, filters etc. just stuff that needs doing. But is now pushing 200k and had its 25th birthday in March.
So you reckon the L322 is no worse?
Do you not have to take the body off to change the plugs?

Is an L322 better than a P38?

I've had no problems electrically until the recent indicator failure which I aim to fix before I move it on.
Really is no more complicated than a p38, just more of it.
That said, the wiring diagrams are very good and easy to follow.

It's recently had new plugs and there are no body off procedures as it doesn't have separate chassis like the disco and sport.
In terns of driving dynamics, my personal experience is it feels much more modern and a bit better planted than the p38.
As far as the engine goes, it's a world ahead of the rv8.

Body off on the sport and Disco 3 etc...L322 is not a body off motor...until you get int othe TDV8's where Body-off/Engine-drop is easier for some jobs.

L322 is more planted car, feels more solid to drive, but the P38 is a better ride comfort wise - seats are better in the P38 too

Due to work commitments (lack of time to look after her properly) the old girl will be leaving us soon.
I would really love her to go to a home where she will get the attention she deserves. In other words, someone on here.
I have done around 35k relatively trouble free miles in her but there are a few niggly little jobs need doing and there is a clunk somewhere at the back that needs finding and sorting.
If anyone is interested, I would be fully open and list everything that I know about.
I'm open to offers really as she owes me nothing.
It's a 4.4 v8 vogue. {jag engine) and is on an 05 plate but when you put the vin in topix it says it's a 2006 so I think the original owner must have transferred the plate to it when it was originally purchased.
It would be absolutely "sold as seen" as I simply don't have any time to deal with the issues.
The gap iid will be available either with it or separately.
No idea what she would fetch on open market but for anyone who I know from here, I'd let it go well below market value.
When you say it has issues, can they be fixed easily with little cost? And do you require good spanner skills, if not, pro help would be expensive?

You are joking? The CAN BUS system is way more complicated than anything you will find on a P38 and so is the EAS.

Agree with the planted, but the heat/cool seats are lovely in the 322, I do find my arm rolls off the armrest in the 322 as it’s skinnier than the P38:). I find the ride on normal roads both the same, but our bumpy roads home the 322 copes a little better in the comfort department.
But the 322 is just the next generation in the Range Rover level and the problems to come. A well maintained/cared for 1 will do just as well as the P38 IMO.
I love both. They both eat miles when needed and you can still walk straight at the end of a long drive.

Can bus is basically 2 wires carrying data.
Agreed, it's not as simple to diagnose that data but the wiring is pretty simple

Having so many things connected on a common BUS makes life difficult, it's often not possible to see the cause of the problem on diagnostics if the BUS is held down for example. Look at the LCM problems, ignition switch problems the chaos that can be caused by a HID failure, I could go on and on and on.
