i bought some for a 110 county and thought I'd try pro comp es9000

Been on there about a month and I went for an hour long trundle through the field, nothing extreme just normal lumpy bumpy fields. Came back and thought it felt really bouncy and tried pushing the front down and there's no damping at the front at all. Both shocks have failed completely. No signs of any leaks but there's no damping at all. They haven't snapped anywhere.

Is this common with pro comp I thought they were once a decent product and for something called a performance shock that fails after a slow trundle on a grassy field is pretty damn poor. Problem is is that they were a Christmas present and I don't think I have any proof of purchase.
Can anyone recommend a gas shock absorber for the front that will actually work.

Not had any issues with my Pro-Comps, (+5" rear and +2" front) and they get hammered and have been on about two years.

I'd take them off, clamp one end in a vice and slowly open and close the shock a few times. We used to do this when racing with new shocks and with 'boiled' shocks, basically it's said (dunno the truth but it seems plausible and it's worked for me) to condition the oil and damping inside the shock so there are no voids or bubbles where there shouldn't be. Worth seeing if you can get them back working anyway .. :)

Yeah just a bit annoying they worked fine when I put them on and tested them off the vehicle and got the oil circulating and were fine for slow pavement stuff then went into the field to test the off-road performance of the 110 nothing serious it's on standard setup and the axle articulation wasn't severe. Came back and thought the front felt stupidly wallowy so pushed down on the front and with one hand pushing down once the front bounces up and down about 5 times before settling. They are still bolted up and none of the welds have snapped but both have completely given up After 30 minutes light use in the field. Pro comp offer a lifetime guarantee but I'm a bit skeptical to fit them in case they fail so quickly again. Especially as last time I did the front I had all the wings off so was simple as peas.

Something else seems wrong here IMO.

I doubt 4 shocks would all fail at the same time with "only 30 mins light use". The front and rear are different fitment too, so highly unlikely that all four shocks are from the same manufacturing batch.

That said, if they have failed, contact a UK agent (or where ever they were purchased from) and arrange for a replacement set.

As the fronts are pin to pin fitting, I suppose a question to ask is, did you mount them the correct way up?

Only the front had failed.
But today I took them off and they only started to dampen just after half way through the travel so primed them until they were nice and stiff throughout the full travel. Fitted one back on after doing this and all is fine so free fix only costing time. To be honest I didn't prime them as much when I first fitted them. So I'll be testing them tomorrow to make sure they will stay working.
