Hey guys,

Feeling enthused by good old rattys helpful advice, and realizing what a great site this is, leads me to talk about a thought ive had for a good while.

I got a 110 with an unusual flatbed body. I want to keep her as my main work vehicle, but WHEN we get a weekend of sunshine, get away for a weekend in her, and was thinking about doing a DIY camper body. A kinda "bolt together within an hour and hope it dont blow off on the motorway" affair.

Anybody come across anything like this at all? Or do you have one, or seen a site with DIY campers, or any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

There's bound to be a similar mod for a Landy somewhere out there, almost everything gets done to Landies.

A mate of mine did something similar some years back with a Transit van and a caravan. He cut the van bit off just behind the seats and took it right down to the chassis, then he jacked the caravan up good and high, cut the rotten chassis off that and backed the Transit under it and gently took the jacks away. A small fortune in bolts, welding, aluminium sheet and fibre-glass filler and he got himself a Transit camper van.

Good luck with your project.

Search for demoing able campers, have been around for years, many different companies make them e.t.c. but to be honest, get a caravan, cheaper, more room, easier to store e.t.c.

that's the trouble, I'm in central London, and I am lucky if I get a parking space, let alone a space for a caravan!

I was thinking of angle iron welded, ply i could fit into the grooves and bolt together....these panels of ply will stack flat in my garage, apart from where i will have spaces cut out for old caravan windows and door off e bay.

Also a fridge etc and a bed.

All I want is a knock up easily camper for those oh so rare breaks in the clouds.....

Surely there must have been another rugged landyist who's done the same?

i always fancied putting an ex telecom grp body on a 110..... dunnomif it would fit, but it would be a cracking camper ... :D

How about a Hicap body and one of them drop in campers, you could leave the camper in your parking space when you just want a pickup.

Why dont you buy a shed and put it on it then take it off a putt in the garage
