Anyway I am really going to scare you now. After Saturday I have decided that being an auto electrician is not my thing (I can still remember the diagram you drew on the floor though
)I think I need to learn to weld. Is there anything on the Defender which actually needs welding or do I have to wait for something to break.

theres nowt on yours that springs to mind that needs welding, and it'd be betterer to try it before yer break summat.......Does that mean you HAVE taste

i do have a wagon that needs welding tho.....
seriously, if you want to try it, i'll show you the principles, and if you can stand a shower of sparks and hot globs you can have a go.
wont let you loose on the wagon till i know you can do a half decent job, and its completely different to standing in front of a bench welding clean steel in an upright position.
want me to text ya next time i'm down? probly be friday night or sunday now.

This mechanic stuff is such hard work. Was just on my way outside to change a Focus headlight bulb when I discovered that a) Its cold b) The one security light I need to work has gone out so I wouldn't be able to see c) I dont have the destructions will have to buy a manual
