i think u will find that at some point someone has taken the gearbox out and not replaced the soundproof mat under the console, on top of gearbox maybe they dont half make a sound if its not put in properly

If it were mine I'd replace all the foam under the carpets, bonnet, wings, and elsewhere as I find where I'd removed it from I'd also go back to AT's, or even (spit!) road tyres, softer springs, new bushes, replace egr, centre silencer, repair rear exhaust pipe and back box, and not drive like I stole it.
