Hi there all,
After buying a disco 1 300tdi and spending all of easter bank holiday welding up the cills and making tree and rock sliders for it, I'm really itching to get it out on the lanes.
Just wanted to know if any one has any lanes that are worth having a go at within our reach.
Were based in Salford, Manchester.
We are willing to travel if were going for the weekend but would also like some lanes to try that you could go on a funday early doors and be back the same day.
Any ideas of info would be great!
thanks in advance!

I'm in Blackpool. But also looking to do some laning in Manchester. Prob over Glossop end.
But think it will be more like Windy hill over Oldham. There's Rivington Nr Chorley. Loads in Lakes. Look at youtube at Gatesgarth pass. Our first outing was Kankku 2011 on youtube. Was ok for the first time. and they showed us a few lanes. One rising up 700 foot above Coniston. Great weekend Specially if your camping. Try Low Wray campsite Nr Ambleside. Pitch up on the lakeside. Few mates beers and BBQ's Nothing better.
Oh yea theres a great ford at Garstang That's at the end of our vid on Kankku 2011.
After Garstang ford go to Snipe rake lane. A couple of mile from the ford. Type it into youtube Not much but it's worth a warm up. lol
Let us know if you find any Lanes around Manchester. I'll find a few from an off roader my Mate knows. He's done plenty round Manchester. Let you know. #
Good luck.

i guess judging by the lack of replies this is down to the tw@ts that give all 4x4 users a bad name.
Just wish people would recognise that off roading and green laning are two totaly different things.
If people wanna rip up grass and make a mess go on a pay and play day and wreck your motor to your hearts content amd leave the countryside for ALL to enjoy.
rant over........for now!

Had you half a clue you would be looking for a BOAT and consulting your local rights of way officer at the council.

I'm sorry that your not getting the instant response you wanted, if the forum is not to your liking then feel free to go else where

Folk tend not to pass information on to people they don't know....to many wuckfits around

Cheers, I keep meaning to update it .. cba though .. ;)

Fanatic... I was after ideas, not smart arse comments.

Thanks to the others for helping, I find that forums seem to work better with positive responses insted of digs.
Thanks for the heads up on people being cagey and I can understand why.
