Any ideas on a price?

I thought they had scrapped q plates ? Years ago i knew a mechanic that bought a q plate xr2, then he stole 5 other xr2 fiestas and took the plates and numbers off them and the just put the q plate off the car he had bought legitimately. He then sold six xr2's on the same number plate. Crazy
i think the best thing to do is just keep everything documented and dont mention it to the dvla at all. The only time you would have a problem is if the police or dvla were given the chassis number on the old chassis to check up on. Even then all you would have to do is take the car down to dvla to be inspected.

The old chassis would never re surface as it would be cut up to ensure his, all markings would be transfered as the idea is to mimic it as much as possable!

I am sure even the best of trafic cop cant tell by looking at the car if the chassis is original and unmodified so that would mean no probs. If it was ever stolen or pulled I would want them to find the chassis number as that would link it to the numberplate!

The only thing I would want is for it to look like a defender, have defender running gear and engine, and have a rust free chassis that looks like a defender but is a series 2ab! (The later special one that is the same as the defender but called a series 2ab wink wink) be taxed as a series 2a that is tax exempt! And keep the old numberplate! Simple!
