I noticed this stuck above the front bumper. Might have been there for years. Anybody know what it is and what it is used for?

About seven years ago I had a front tow/push bar fitted. I took it off the other day. The wife said last night that the horn wasn't working. I took the grill off today and saw this. It wasn't the horns themselves but the fuse in the end. Oh well a new tool for the collection.

As long as it wasn't previously welded on to keep the front crossmember in place you'll be fine!

No. At least I don't think so. I have now removed the surface rust. It is made by snap-on.

What sort of jobs are they used on? I suppose i am lucky it didn't do any damage to the radiator.

It's a Snap-on Podger / heel bar. Used for lining up bolt holes when working with heavy steel including chassis work. I have one exactly the same, it saves putting your finger in the holes to line them up and getting them guillotined off!

It will save me using a screwdriver in future! It had probably been used to hold the towbar bracket in place while he fitted it.

Also used for removing pulleys and bearings provided you have two, bet the guy who lost that was miffed

i bought 3, align holes and stay in due to the slow taper , very good lever action and as they are decent quality strong with a small profile

Isnt a heel bar/joggler, jsut a heelbar/joggler? mine isnt snap on and it aint broke!
