We purchased a five door 2005 td4 when we got it the back window switch didn’t lower the window etc but we could hear motor working, when we opened the boot I lower manually a little bit then it would go back up on its own when you shut the door.
Now the window is stuck closed and the switch beeps at front also the rear wiper and heated screen now not working. Any ideas please

The window sounds like it needs calibration. However as you have had motor drive and no window movement. It's likely to be the window drive cables are failing. Replacement of the cables or the complete regulator assembly is needed. I just do the cables myself, because I'm tight.

This is what a fully assembled looks like with new cables fitted.

Thankyou that’s what we thought but does this affect the rear wiper etc aswell if they fail?

Yes. The rear wiper and heated rear window will only function if the CCU (Central Control Unit) knows the window is up. If the window isn't up, or not confirmed as up, the CCU inhibits wiper/heated window operation.

Ok thankyou now to find someone local cheap to do it for me thankyou again we did try the window reset but the window didn’t drop down and we have the buzzing when we press the switches at front.

Definitely the cables then. It's an hour's work to change the complete regulator and less than 2 hour's to replace the cables in the old regulator. ;)
