Any good garages?

Hi people, anyone know a good garage to take my defender where i wont get ripped off. I live in winchester, but baring in mind my defender isnt in a great state to drive tooo far!

whats wrong with your landy? i maybe able to help

the main problem is a knocking from the rear when i drive, like a thump thump thump, worse on rougher roads. There is a clunk on acceleration and decceleration when the foot goes on or off the pedal and also i beleive the gear linkage has broken. i would appreciate ANY help you could give me!

Furstly check yer propshafts and uj's 'cos that's the easiest, if there is any play what-so-ever this will deffo clonk. Next thing is to check yer A-frame ball joint, this is the most likely cause. As per previous answers, borrow, beg, steal, or even buy a jack ( a very handy tool and ye shouldn't be without when ownin' a Landy) and lift it up and also check yer wheel bearings.

do the work yourself there aint any good garages anymore just feckers that wanna rob you blind.
