any fabricators want a challenge?

it seems the end plate support on the warn 8274 winch is the weak point as my mate has a broken one and so do I

can anyone make summit more substantial as the existing one is aluminium and very thin and brittle.
have found some pics of upgraded ones on the net

I'd offer to do a solid works design for it but swamped atm with uni work and a couple of bumpers/winch trays

Pressbrake may make you one if you ask nicely, not sure if he has a milling machine but he has a lathe so may have a miller too

Ive got vmcs etc, its the machining side that props up dicking about with rovers bit of the business

That could be something pb that would sell very well the end plate atm is a very week part of the design of the 8274, I for one would be interesred if its summit you could make

I've noticed it's going to be a weak point and have thought about it myself, if only we had a proper milling machine is give it a go !

Mine snapped the top and bottom mounts
I also need to get my arse in gear and fit the 2nd alt
The split charge system and one alternator just isnt up to the job of powering an 8274 with a bow 2 motor

Hellish !
I've gotta be creative with my second alt as my rear rad pipe work goes over the mounts for where I'd fit the second alt :/

tool steel seems to be a bit of an overkill be hard to machine too as its so hard

Weren't suggesting he used toolsteel But it is a simple solution to trying to get if fabbed in one piece.

Looks a nice simple solution with minimal machining time.
As for toolsteel probably en8 which machines as nice as en1a but welds a lot better, its 4130 that gets a pita to machine quickly

this is all you need machines nicely and great weld ability. Johnny Curt should be able to machine these for you guys. Find a steel/fab shop should have cut offs or burn outs from making flanges or gurder bases

If there is a few that want these I'll knock some out, got some 200mm bar in stock

Looking at that I could make one I should think, might even get a bearing for it
