aup folks had to have water pump replaced by a garage in devon in the summer:(
an just been out to check the antifreeze and the tester says it's unsafe:eek:
the bastids topped up with just water:mad:

my question is can i syphon some out an replace it with pure antifreeze to bump up the level or will i have to drain the whole system:(

will this fix be ok until i get time to do the job properly:tea:

you far better just drain it it doesn't take long just loosen bottom rad hose remove plug on thermostat housing and expansion tank cap and it will drain almost completely very quickly then just refill with correct mix you only have to let your engine freeze once for the damage to be done and according to weather forecasts we could be in for some really cold nights.

thanks for the reply mate:D

i've emptied the header tank an filled it with antifreeze, run it round for about 20 miles an checked when it cooled down an it is now safe to about -7 oc so will be ok till i can do it next week;)

just hope we don't get an arctic blast in the next few days:eek:
