The early RRs had the rear spring option what was called a “Police specification option” for additional weight carrying.
D1 had anti roll bars and also had the rear spring option now simply called “HD” for additional weight carrying, importantly the workshop manuals-parts catalogue mentioned that the rear ant-roll bar should be removed when HD springs are fitted.
My 3.5 RR rolled on some bends and on all roundabouts, it was something that I and other RR owners had to adjust to, but at least on the flat it was what we expected of the RR ride.
Then the 3.9 disco now had anti roll bars plus stiffer springs so didn't roll, but over the years that deteriorated slightly but again just adjusted to it.
My immediate reaction was unprintable!!!Probably every time I take any one of my toys out. Tbh she hates them all wait till I take her out it the boat once
my new manifold gets fitted... 660hp![]()
Not all D2s, mine don't.D2's came with air on the rear, I did convert one to springs which was horrible (very thumpy) although it was totally road going
motor with no other mods arb was still fitted.
Not all D2s, mine don't.
I don't have the third row of seats, apparently that is what makes the diff. I would hate to have all the hassle of airsprings etc.Really im surprised, ive never seen one from the factory with out them, bet yours was built on a Friday.![]()

If she hates them all did she not "vet" you before she married you? My missus did, and she kneew what I was like. And she is into steam in a big way so we kinda compliment one another. She has also actually had more kit cars on the road than I have!
Unlike my French neebs where the W really doesn't comprehend his massiv interest in LR products as well as vehicles of older vintge!

I love that "down to" !When I met her I owned.. mg turbo montego (daily), xr3i mk5 cab, xr2, xr2i & a mk1 escort mexico she must have known
I was a petrolhead. Ive no idea how many cars boats bikes, hovercrafts, vans 4x4 ive went though. Im down to 3 boats
2 landys & 3 motors. She has the mini.![]()
It is the sort of thing where, never having had them on the D1 nor on the D2, I don't miss them. I do have ACE, obvs, but shen it played up and I pulled the fuse I honestly couldn't tell the diff, even driving down the steep, twisty mountain road we have to use every time we go to the nearest toon for shopping etc.The air bags on the rear are superb (with out ace tho)
