OK Had one last try tonight. Sqeuzed my hand up into where the wires are, wiggled and pulled them about a bit, and it started straight away, then every time I turned it off. Took it for a short run and when i got back woudnt start so got back in and moved the wires again but pulled one of the spade coneccters off by mistake and can I F"""ck get it back on.
So back to sqare one, gonna try and get it back on tomorrow, if not looks like a job for the garage, getting sick of it now.
Anyway makes me think it could just be a bad conection with one of the wires thats causing the starting problem, could I be right or am I just wishful thinking??

totally could be. crimp a new spade on and push it back on

I think your starter is broken down..... If he won't start and you punched on the house of the starter with something (tent pole or better some small wooden post) and it started after that the started is on his end of life. You can buy a new one or a revised one.

I had a same problem some years ago but only when the engine was hot. I won't start but when i tried in the morning it was fine.

Good luck

Just a quick update.
Had brand new starter fitted and up to now its been great starts first time every time, even first turn of the key on a morning.
Thanks for help and advice from everyone.
