So last night I started changing my steering bars for the strenghtened ones, big long one; (track rod I think) fine, cause it's the 3rd one I've put on.

However, the front one that comes from the steering box, siezed So last night I started changing my steering bars for the strenghtened ones, big long one (track rod I think) fine cause it's the 3rd one I've put on, however the front one that comes from the steering box siezed solid (to be expected) onto the the bit that attaches to the drop arm not sure what it's called, thing the damper bolts to, I tried warming it up...quite a lot...but it wouldn't bugde, so I figured OK unbolt the damper from this thing and unbolt this from the drop arm and put it in the vice, etc, etc, etc, so took the nut of, but the bush on the damper is so old it's...erm...****ed to put it bluntly, and the bolt will not come out, no matter what I tried I managed to get all the rubber bush out of the end (with lots and lots of fire and a knife!!!), but it looks like there's a metal centre or something that is stuck to the bolt and was stopping it coming out in the first place, so I'm out of ideas of how to get it out...other than cut it off!

So I thought I'd ask some people who know a bit more than me....you!

I've attached some pics so you can see what mean, as my descriptions are probably ****e.

All help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

yu seem to be reapeating yoself sharpy.

put the nut back on till it is level with the end of the bolt - and then some serious welting required.

heat it up then poor cold water on it then hit it again - the thermal shock and the welting should shift it
