2001 TD4 with the filter under the bonnet (important) - I'm limited to about 2000 revs unless I disconnect the plug on top of the under bonnet fuel filter, then I'm back to full revs but I MIL light on (no fault registered while plugged in) - I've changed both low pressure fuel pumps and filter, she runs as good as gold unplugged (running for 10 months like this) - Do anybody know what's in the fuel filter cap as I think this is hopefully causing the problem.

:) Thanks lads...It was the housing...

Inside there was a small circuit board with a sensor on it...

The sensor inserted into a hole in the filter housing.

Not too sure which part failed (suspect the probe part that inserted into the filter housing might be blocked). But all sorted now :)

Excellent outcome and thank you for sharing the photo's, sorry I could not let you have my spare, I always try to keep certain spares, mainly sensors and fuel pumps etc, Arctic2
